I love the style of gameplay and hope that this game turns out to be a hit for the 360. And to be honest, I am glad they are going with their own game engine and not the UE3. Too many devs taking the easy way out these days with the UE3 IMHO.
Those are some very nice shots. This game seems to be shaping up to be one fantastic looking ride. From the sounds of it, the people who have had a chance to play the game say it plays great. So a great playing game that looks this nice, now that will be a good time.
Another negative article about Sony from Kotaku... Imagine that...
What is this world coming to? Why can't fanboys just go away...
I have played the first one through about 4 times now and love it every time. I still need 2 treasures though... I just can't seem to find the other two.
"When it comes to videogame reviewing, critics should exercise a degree of professional subjectivity by not appraising games for the sake of peer conformity; nor should they review games while focusing only on appeasing the demands of hardcore franchise fanatics."
Nor should they write a negative review in spite of the game getting great reviews from everybody else. Sorry, but this site is just as bad as those they are accusing of appeasing the developers and fans. I say ...
The only folks saying that the PS3 is struggling with textures are those that have not played any one of the games I listed. If anybody says that MGS4 is low res and suffering from no textures is obviously lying. lol
MGS4 is the most texture intensive game to ever hit a console and it is a PS3 exclusive only solidifying the power of the PS3 in terms of development. I'm not saying anything negative about the 360 there, I am simply saying that sure, some developers have struggled...
WOW!
Nice list!
You will love it if you are a fan of the series. it is information intensive and great for explaining so much of the features and story of MGS. It's a great add-on for any and all MGS fans!
As a PS developer, you would be used to Sony changing the way things are done. They have done it now 3 different times and to great success. At this point, developers might not like change but each time they do, the developers realise that Sony pushes them to do their best and to take advantage of some of the most powerful console tech ever. Sony is about inventing and reinvigerating the console market. It makes me glad to see them doing what others do not dare to do. At the moment, the two b...
Is this a stupid question? Just looking at the huge sales boost in Japan on release week for MGS4 I would say, yeah, MGS4 is a system seller.. Anybody that doubts it is simply stupid.
If you want to know where it will shine it will be on the PC. Sorry, but it will be too hard to pull the Halo fanboys from their cash cow to actually give this game a go. Besides, isn't this right up there with Duke Nukem in terms of vaporware? When they first showed this I was impressed but that was what? 4 years ago? 5 years?
Maybe this will be a launch title for the Xbox 720?
Any release by Treyarch will be a rental for me. Infintiy Ward have proven themselves and that is why their CODs are still in my library of games. Once Treyarch releases a great title, then I will buy. Until then, I will rent only.
And all I got to say is WOW! I love this game!
Their numbers have never been a source for trust and have only ever been a poor benchmark for outlying regions from the US. Any other trust in their numbers would be unwarranted. Good article by the way, well written and informative.
Sorry, but my guess is that MS WILL drop support for the 360 when their new console is released because they would not want to lose potential customers of their new console to those content with their cheaper, older console. They need all the help in sales they can muster when it comes to new hardware, otherwise they would not be in a position to continue in the console race.
Power of the PS3 is in it's offerings. BD is better than DVD for several reasons and some of those are ...

But then again, this is Gamespot...
This game is going to be great for new comers and EPIC for those who have played the others. Reviews are not necessary for me to make that call.
It looks more game specific than anything else. Oh, and I love Vampire Hunter D. Great flick.
